PERLICK PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: MODERN CONNECTICUT KITCHEN DESIGNED FOR ART AND ENTERTAINING
Designer Chuck Wheelock meets unique design challenge with Perlick industry exclusive Signature Series Sottile 18" depth refrigeration
Perlick was thrilled to recently be a part of a Wheelock Design Associates project in Connecticut. Widely considered a leader in innovative home and kitchen design, Chuck Wheelock has been creating statement kitchens, bathrooms and custom cabinetry for nearly 30 years. Chuck was nice enough to give Perlick an inside look at one of his most recent projects for Mr. and Mrs. Rich Granoff.
A modern kitchen inspired by a couple’s love for contemporary art and entertaining called for a sleek and functional space for architect Rich Granoff and his wife’s evolving needs – including the need for plenty of wine and beverage storage for party guests.
“The couple is a prominent architect and fashion industry executive who love to entertain. The two Signature Series Sottile Beverage Centers and two Signature Series Wine Reserves fit their needs for large gatherings and contemporary aesthetics with stainless steel interior and exterior.”
Wheelock created a full service wine station to meet the couples entertaining needs. He knew the couple required ample refrigeration for their wide assortment of vintages, but needed to be mindful of the rooms space limitations.
“The design layout was limited on the outside wall by a foundation wall which projected into the kitchen space. The Perlick Signature Series Sottile is unique in that it is 6" shallower than all other undercounter refrigeration units available, and allowed maximum circulation space for gathering and entertaining.”
Perlick’s Signature Series Sottile undercounter refrigeration features an industry exclusive 18” depth to accommodate spaces – like the Granoff’s kitchen – that don’t have the room to install a traditional 24” depth unit. Featuring RAPIDcool, Perlick’s powerful yet quiet forced-air refrigeration system, sleek stainless steel interiors and full extension pullout shelves, the Granoff’s new wine station has room for 60 bottles of wine and 80+ cans or bottles – ideal for any sized gathering.
